Description
A woodland area found near Caerleon in S. Wales. Many years ago, people practiced coppicing here, but now it has become something of a wilderness. However, with a little digital magic, dead trees with split and crumbling bark and branches with dried, withered leaves can be brought to life. Add a little color, and a fantasy forest of blue trees with pink, orange, purple and red leaves invites you to enter.
Coppicing is an English term for a traditional method of woodland management which takes advantage of the fact that many trees make new growth from the stump or roots if cut down. In a coppiced wood, young tree stems are repeatedly cut down to near ground level.
