This Christmas card is one of a series of abstract works, based on digitally manipulated photographs taken at Red Rock Canyon. The flow of colors, light and shapes emerging inspired the addition of wings and the angel appeared. Luke 2:10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy .
A photograph of some of the incredible rock formations found at Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. The unique geologic features, plants and animals of Red Rock represent some of the best examples of the Mojave Desert. In 1990, special legislation supported by the Nevada congressional delegation, changed the status of the Red Rock Recreation Lands to a National Conservation Area (NCA), the seventh to be designated nationally.

About Stephanie Grant
I was born in Wales and now live in California having had the good fortune to visit most of Europe and some of America along the way. I find almost everything around me to be an inspiration. I work mostly in pencil and acrylics but I will experiment with any medium to achieve the effects I desire. I love to draw animals, from pets to wildlife. Some of my portraits are quite silly intended to bring a smile, others have a more serious message. My 'Barely There' collection of mixed media works represent a few of the fast disappearing exotic species. I often work with minimal colour palette but occasionally go all out.
